Managing your pet’s pain is one of our highest priorities.  Notions that pets don’t feel pain or “need” the discomfort to keep them quiet are universally accepted as outdated and incorrect.  It has been shown that pain impairs healing and is inhumane.  We place utmost importance on your pet’s comfort and well being.  Allowing an animal to suffer in pain is, in our view, unethical.

Fortunately, with modern medicine and practices, we have many strategies for controlling pain.  Many of these methods are included in the cost of routine surgical procedures.  All of these methods are considered for every case, every time.  Although they have been proven as very safe and beneficial for our patients, some of these medications do carry risks.  We will discuss these with you and help you weigh the risks verses the potential reward regarding your pet’s health and longevity.
