Together with Mutt Matchers and Friends we are working to stop pet overpopulation with a FREE Spay/Neuter program for dogs, the SPOT program–Stop Pet Overpopulation Together.
The SPOT program operates through donations only and provides FREE spaying & neutering to dog owners in the greater Kingman, AZ area who meet the financial criteria. We know how difficult it is now during these hard economic times to take care of your pets. Providing FREE spaying and neutering for those in need in our community is a service we are excited to be able to offer through the SPOT program.
The SPOT program is based solely on financial need so the program is able to help those can’t afford to spay or neuter their dog. You must fill out an application and provide all the documents that they need in order to see if you qualify for the SPOT program. Those who qualify have their dog spayed or neutered for FREE at Stockton Hill Animal Hospital!
If you or someone you know has a dog that needs to be spayed or neutered and can’t afford to do so, you can contact Mutt Matchers and Friends directly for more information at 928-718-4DOG or you can fill out their application online. If you would like to donate to the SPOT program, you can do so on the Mutt Matchers and Friends website. Simply scroll down to the bottom of their page and click on the second “Donate” button to make a donation to the SPOT program.

We have been coming to you for about 7 years now..since the economy started its downhill spiral Jesses work has been slow and now with so many more competitors he’s lucky to get 40 hours a month and we really need to fix Ruby, she will be 4 in Jan. and still has random seizures so we have put it off far to long and now our finances just can’t afford it so we sure could use some help if at all possible..thanks

Hi Sandra. I am so sorry to hear about Jesse’s work. We are hearing a lot of this unfortunately. I would most certainly encourage you to put in an application for the SPOT program. This is exactly the reason this program was designed, to help people just like you. Something else that may help is Care Credit- they have no interest for 6 months for anything under $300 and 12 months no interest for anything over $300. You can apply for Care Credit here or by coming into the hospital and we can do an application for you. You get an answer right away and can use your Care Credit immediately. So that is another option for you. I hope that things turn around soon for you, and for everyone affected by the economy right now.

Hi I have a female cat that I found. She is in season at this time. I would like to keep her but there is no way I can afford to have her spayed. Does this program cover cats? I would really like to apply for it if it does cover cats. Thank you, Nina

Hi Nina and Keith,
As of right now, the program is for dogs only. However, I just spoke with Mutt Matchers since we have had multiple people ask about cats. The original donations that were given to the SPOT Program were given with the instructions that the funds were to be used for dogs and for the Kingman Area only. However, they are hoping in the near future to be able to include cats as other donation funds come in. In the meantime, there is the SNIP program at Western Arizona Humane Society that you can apply for.For those who can help, we would appreciate your donations to the SPOT Program so the program can be expanded to include our feline friends.
